Product description
An exceptionally high-quality Japanese green tea, distinguished by its fresh, bright green color in the cup. The tea garden where it comes from is located near Mount Shibisan and the Sendai River in Kagoshima Prefecture, where morning mists gently moisten the tea bushes. It is grown from asanoka seedlings, which contain many beneficial amino acids. Before harvesting, the tea plants are shaded with tarpaulins for up to 25 days. This traditional method reduces the tannin content and thus increases the natural sweetness of the tea.
Gyokuro is drunk slowly and in small quantities. Due to its higher caffeine content, some call it the espresso of green teas. It is highly valued in Japanese tea culture and is suitable for drinking during quiet and relaxing moments of the day. Its extraordinary "umami" taste lingers in the mouth long after the last sip.
